Coastal Plains Fellowship History & Schedule for 2007

During the early days of our Fellowship in eastern North Carolina the General Service consisted of groups coming together to do what little business was needed to carry our message of hope to the “Still Suffering Alcoholic.”  Groups had representatives known as GR’s now known as GSR’s.  All the groups from a line near U.S. Highway 301 eastward would come together once a month.  They would have a brief business meeting followed by fellowship, a great meal, a great speaker and more fellowship.  It was an open meeting and was enjoyed by many of our members.  When the new General Service structure started in the late sixties most members of our Fellowship wished to continue the “Get-Together.”  Thus, this beautiful event still continues today.  Many long-time friendships have started by members meeting each other at this monthly event.
 
The Coastal Plains Fellowship is currently shared by six of the districts in Area 51 and typically is a speaker meeting held on the first Sunday of the month.  Flyers are normally provided by the host city in the following format (unless otherwise announced):
